big bang change?

changes are good. if changes bring fresh perspective, or could result in better and more effective environment. however, it will be dangerous if changes were to be implemented too quickly and dramatically. it would certainly cause rebellious among staff. an organisation wouldn't die because of a staff, but it wouldn't survive for long without staff and especially capable staff. being a new management, many factors should have been taken into account before implementing changes or restructuring plan. making change to an organisation is actually easy, just change the current way of doing things. if somewhere is not right, point a finger at it and yell change. sini tarak betoi, change. so.. lets see how The One is going to deal with all these messes he has caused. Perhaps all these were part of his plan, and curious to know what's next xD

super epic... =)

college life is supposed to be fun. college is supposed to be the place where we learn how to face our future, it is supposed to be the place where we can build our network, it is supposed to be the place where we can share our knowledge and learn how to communicate with others.

ok, in reality it is not. not just college, but everywhere, every corner of the world, as long as got human at any place, politics follow. This fella dun like that fella, that fella dun like this fella. it could be a good thing, coz we have the inherited habit of competing with others. with this ability, we improve our society. oni if we use this ability in a correct way, or else it becomes a sohai habit.

biz management

Let Them Be a Boss
Give your employees freedom to do anything they want, but in compliance. Let them feel they are not slaves, but working a great job, as they are the boss of their own job.
—Guest Saurabh gupta

Success Tips for a Manager
Good managers are always concerned about the employees. They not only govern the employees, and blame and criticize every job, but tell how to make a good team, work together, and improve the spirits of the employees
—donykrs

Fairness
When leading and managing a group of human beings, treating each member with fairness is a must. This way no one feels that there is favouritism by the manager.
—Guest Karmic

Faithfulness and a listening ear
Hello, the habit of being faithful and giving listening ears to your staff promotes a good working environment and sustains quality leadership and management ability.
—Guest Emmanuel Ashinaga

Be open minded and humble to your staff
From my experience, one of the secrets of being a good leader and manager, is being humble and open minded to your followers. Thanks,
—Guest Emmanuel Ashinaga

GM in an International Organization
Well good, and want to add to this topic of Good Leader and Manager. Must be friendly and motivated, and if you want to have a healthy organaizational setup, you must facilitate your worker who works under you. and you get all accomplishments reporting from that person. You must have a good relationship, but strict with work, and must keep yourself updated about your work and the performance of your team. Thanks
—Guest Touseef khan

Management and leadership qualities
You have to be able to manage with respect, Remember respect goes a far way, as respect goes where respect came from.
—Guest Garth vickers

Management Success Tips
For me transparency is very important. I always do my best to keep my team informed, I want them to participate, I want their feedback, I never leave my team in the dark, especially when times or a situation is difficult. I know that it makes them feel as if they are a part of the solution and that what they say and think is important. I worked for many years with a manager who controlled me and never let me in on anything, I promised myself I would never be that way !!!
—MartineBerube

A Role Model...
I believe that a good leader serves as a role model to his/her team members. By showing them the right attitude and values towards work, they will unknowingly adapt the same attitude. What a leader knows doesnt matter much but by doing it is what matters the most.
—Guest jpe237

Share the work, yet be leader
Do not make them feel they need to do the job because they have to, but because they want to. I prove to them my own motto, "one heart, one team, and two hands" to achieve the common goal. No harm in being a role model; sharing the workload in the beginning for the sake of encouraging them). Be a good listener, respect their opinions, share and explain yours. However, always remember one thing: You are the leader.
—Guest Rajaa Skaf

Your employees dont just work for you...
You work for them as well. Without your best efforts they will never be successful. If you don't care about them, they will not care about you. Take the time to ensure they have the tools to succeed. Make sure they are trained properly, and that they have clear direction. If they need something, say a day off, do your best to give it to them and let them know why if you can't. Find that thing inside all of us that motivates them and give it a spark. Some people want to be challenged, others want a sense of ownership, others just want to feel appreciated. When your employees see that you are working for them they will return the favor.
—dblr80

Do the distasteful stuff first
Don't wait until the end of the day, do the distasteful stuff first. After all, that's what you are getting paid for. Procrastination can ruin your whole day. If you handle that performance counseling issue, or that complaint first, the rest of the day will be a piece of cake. You arrive at work rested and full of energy. That's the perfect time to take on the distatsteful taste, when you're operating on all eight cylinders. Your energy and enthusiasm wanes as the day goes on and by 2 or 3 in the afternoon, you are not operating at your peak. Your success in dealing with any issue is directly proportionate to the energy level you bring to the situation. Don't hesitate, deal with it with that first cup of coffee in hand! You won't be sorry.

Start from zero sen
I managed to be a manager for a huge tuition centre in Mersing, Johor Malaysia. Beginning from zero I distribute my advertisement from newspaper stall. From that I got the money and I managed to pay all of my capital and shop deposits. Now I got 6 workers. My students are always rising in numbers. I am so happy. I can relax and teach only 2 hours a day and got multiple rewards. I sell beverages and nuts to my students. I am planning to open students library and english centre. Lets come to my tuition centre.
—Guest Hanini

Leaders vs. Managers
Everyone has the potential to be a leader and a manager. A leader looks for innovation and CHALLENGES the status quo. A manager looks for order and MAINTAINS the status quo.In EVERY job function there is a time to lead and a time to manage. Help everyone to understand this fundamental concept and your enterprise will fly, and meet today's enormous challenges.

All I am and all I know,

shows me I have far to go.

Yesterdays and tomorrows,

prove I haven't much to show,

for all the ways I've had to grow.

But, all my knowledge, I bestow,

upon a seed I plant below,

the earth and hope with hope against all hope,

that i can fix the hearts I broke.

And that I do not have to pay,

for all the dreams I chose to chase.

Because my lungs are chilled as I am winded.

Running in the cold too long but, I'm not thrilled that it has ended.

So I take the time to stop and watch the skies of faith and will so ever-splinded.

last day of march

So many ups and downs since i've started work. Didn't expect that I would have the chance to experience all the unexpected. Basically, everyday is a new challenge to me. No matter how nice I plan my work, there is sure 1 or 2 fantastic-bombastic event occurs.

I used to not-to-care my actions, I would follow my direction and my own style of doing things. I've never ever think of all the consequences of my action. I've never think of how others feel. Perhaps I'm selfish, in fact I am.

Just lost a friend of mine, and didnt expect that he would end his life like that. Didnt know him long though, 2 months+. But he is the only one in the company whom I respected the most. He is a 60 yrs old plus uncle. He was a bachelor and was staying alone. Due to closing down of the company and didnt get a sen afta being retrenched (thanks to the stupid fucker directors), he choosed to end his life. I used to advised him when he was still in the company, chit chat awhile with him before he goes for lunch and afta he back from lunch.

Well, I dunno how to describe my feeling now. I thought by sharing things out and nothing is unsolvable. But sometimes we do have to face the reality, and for the past 23 years, I've been living on my own imagination, thought everything also 'no problem'. Everything can cincai punya, everything also is tak apa punya.

But NO !!! Don't be optimistic, don't be pessimistic, be realistic.

I'm growing up everyday. THanks for the opportunity to experience all the abovementioned events.

just motivation

" If I have to swim across the sea to get what I want, I will learn how to swim, then I'll swim it. If I have to climb the highest mountain to get what I want, I will learn how to climb, then I'll climb it. If I have to dive the deepest ocean to get what I want, I will learn how to dive, then I'll dive it. If I get disappointed because things did not appear as I wanted, I will learn how to accept it, then I'll try to accept it. At least now I have experienced how to swim, to climb and to dive and also how to accept everything that came from my effort. Then, I will try again to do better." Johni Pangalila

" Unexpected hits may force you to your knees, or worse, knock you on your face; but if you have the courage to get back up & walk around with that 'bruise' visible for all to see, the next time it happens, people won't notice the bruise...just your dignity while you 'recover'!" work experience

this week was my 3rd week of work, fyi, im currently doing liquidation for a hardware & machinery company near old town. The company is forced to be wound up by court order, after one of the shareholder presented a petition to the court. Basically, we took over the operation of the company, we are responsible to collect payments, pay off all debts and expenses, in short, we are the 'new boss'. There are 2 firms involved, Deloitte KassimChan and Rabin & Associates from KL. We are joint liquidators.

I'm with my senior for the past 2 weeks, but this week onwards, my senior will no longer with me, and i have to work alone there, directly accountable to senior partner and partner. Im nervous like hell, there are many things that i dunno, and im scared to ask my boss. Instead, i ask those employees there. Ofcoz, they look down on me, but i keep asking them lol.

Come to think of it, this was a great learning opportunity to me. I'm in charge of all the business transactions, collect payments from debtors, phone them up and chase for payment, being chased by creditors, pay salary, count stocks, secure the company premises and handle people there.

Handling people was the major challenge. The company has around 15 staffs including 2 directors. This company showed me the real world, the reality of the world. I'm being kutuk-ed gao gao there, luckily i'm not a malu or shy guy, still can take it, but what to do, many things i tak tau ma, like a blur small kid in client's office LOL. Im still learning, and i promised to myself, one day i will no longer bully or 'har' by others, neEeeh ~~~ LOL.

work

Joined Deloitte on 13th this month, hmm first day itself also has many things to do. I'm still very blur in the office and in client's place, there are many things to learn, my seniors and managers have no time to give me training, I have to guide myself in order to catch up the flow of work. All i need to do is "observing and following". I worked 10 hours on the first day of work, I didnt expect that, I'm kinda overwhelmed by the geng jeong-ness and the pace of the office. Luckily my manager, principal and my seniors are friendly, we chat, we eat together and we work together. The Partner is frenly too xD

I have 2 days to calm myself down, have a temporary break, trying to figure out what i've done for the past 3 days and trying to figure out what to do next. Hope i can blend with the office culture >.<

Journey

From where I started to where I am today
The journey has been long & tiring
from nothing to some thing I am today
It’s not been an easy journey.

Tried with luck; Tried with hard work
Tried with destiny too
But nothing worked for me.
It’s not been an easy journey.

Found love but lost love too
Found friends but lost them too
Found money, even lost that one too
But the journey continued

Today I stand facing the world
It’s beckoning me to start all over again
While I miss my love
With whom I could start the journey again

I called up my love to join me again
In the journey of life that never concludes
Loser! ! She called me
The lesson of journey never concludes.

I want to move on without my love
Even without my friends & money
As life moves on; I move on with it
To a journey that never concludes

Walking alone on this path
With guts and determination
I want to continue the journey again
A journey where people would remember me
As the man who won million hearts
Vijay Sherigar
